Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home with a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic revenue would not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not nsfas 2025 submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
